Thissio Athens

Thissio Athens

IN BRIEF

Thissio – Athens

This project included the need to obtain a building permit in order to preserve and exhibit ancient findings found within the basement, in addition to, the architectural and structural modifications. This is a three-story stone building with a rectangular ground plan, including a basement. It is deemed a historical building. In order to cover the excavation area in the basement, the floor was made with a completely reversible material. This was achieved by placing steel beams and covering them with crystals in order to have visual access to the findings. (In collaboration with, architect Maria Bakaraki and civil engineer George Dialetis.)
